At the top of each ordering
page you'll see a graphic which indicates the number of ordering steps and which
step you are currently on. Ordering is easy if you simply follow along:
Step 1: Choose Style of Wallplate
The first step in configuring a custom engraved wallplate
is to choose the style of wallplate you need. We offer many different styles
(and are working on offering more styles too). Many of the wallplates are available
in different materials (plastic, nylon, or stainless steel) and in different
sizes (standard, midway, or oversized). For each style of wallplate, a photo
will help you identify the type of plate you need, but if you have difficulty
determining the type of plate you need just contact
us for assistance
Step 2: Choose Size and Material of Wallplate
The second step in configuring a custom engraved wallplate
it to choose the size and material. The available options will vary depending
on the style of wallplate you choose. Choose which wallplate size you need listed
below the available materials. This will take you to the third step where you
choose the wallplate configuration you need. If you don't find the exact configuration
you need, try choosing a different material
(for example: switch from plastic to nylon).
Step 3: Choose Configuration of Wallplate
In the third step choose the configuration you need for your
wallplate. Again, if you don't find the exact configuration you need, try a
different material. Simply hit the BACK button and you'll be able to select
a different material and size.
Step 4: Choose Design Style
You're almost done! Choose from the available design styles
for the specific plate you chose in step three. Simply clicking on the plate
graphic you want will take you to the next step. Note that while the graphics
on the website will read, "CUSTOM TEXT 1, CUSTOM TEXT 2, ETC.," in
STEP 5 you'll be able to specify the appropriate descriptions for your needs.
Also note that any text field can be left blank so no text will be engraved
in that location. This is especially important in the mixed style wallplates
(toggle + decora, for example) where you may want to label your toggle switches,
but one of the decora openings is filled with an electrical outlet or other
device that doesn't require labeling.
Step 5: Choose Design Options
In the last step, you'll choose the available options for
the specific wallplate you've selected. If the wallplate is available in different
colors, you'll need to select the desired color from the pull down menu. If
the wallplate is plastic or nylon, you'll also have the option of several paint
fill colors so that the engraved text contrasts from the wallplate color. For
stainless steel wallplates, you won't have these options because the labeling
process marks the stainless steel with a permanent black marking. After choosing
from the available options, next you'll need to specify the exact text you'd
like engraved on the wallplate. Simply fill in the fields that correspond to
the appropriate fields indicated on the graphic of the wallplate. For example,
if you want the CUSTOM TEXT 1 field to say LIVING ROOM, type the letters LIVING
ROOM in the CUSTOM TEXT 1 field. Do not worry about capitalization. Most of
our styles use all capitals for easy legibility. We'll capitalize any non-capitalized
letters for you. You're almost done: just specify the quantity you want and
ADD TO CART.
Configure any additional plates in the same manner and then
proceed to the checkout. The checkout manager will walk you through the easy
